Castle Dame has
won at Clifden as
a yearling in 1987 and as an 8yr in 1992. Apart from Village Star, Castle Dame will always be the special one.
She was our first winner in Clifden and our most succesful breeding mare.
As far as we know Paddy King held the unique distinction of being the only breeder to "breed" three direct generations of mare lines to win in Clifden with Village, Swallow in 1958, Village Belle in 1965 and Village Star 1975.

It was a milestone for Castle Ponies to have bred and won with three direct generations of marelines when Castle Dame
won in 1987 and her daughter,
Castle Urchin in 2001, and her granddaughter Castle Jewel won in 2007.
